Shohei Ohtani is a Japanese professional baseball designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Nicknamed "Shotime", he previously played for the Los Angeles Angels and the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

In 2024, Ohtani made history by becoming the first player in MLB history to achieve a 50-50 season (54 home runs and 59 stolen bases). He is a two-time AL MVP (2021, 2023) and 2023 World Baseball Classic MVP, widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time.
